Kenyan Nurse Discovers Alleged Misuse of Property After Offering Family Free Housing
A Kenyan nurse based in Canada identified as Joyceknursecanada has shared an emotional account of a developing dispute involving a family she had previously offered free housing, a situation she now says has turned into distress and alleged misuse of her property.
According to her account, she initially reached out online offering a free home to someone in need. She says she was later contacted by a woman who claimed she had lost her husband and was struggling to provide shelter for her five children. Moved by the story, the nurse says she agreed to allow the woman and her children to move into the property.
She explains that at the time, the arrangement was made in good faith, with the expectation that the home would offer temporary relief for a vulnerable family. However, she now alleges that the situation has changed significantly from what was originally presented.
The nurse claims she has since been informed that the woman’s husband is alive and has been residing at the property. She further alleges that he has been cutting trees within the compound and selling them without her permission, raising concerns of unauthorized use of her land and resources.
In addition, she states that the woman’s sister and her three children have also moved into the property. She further alleges that another house within the compound was opened and given to the sister without her consent, a development she says has contributed to what she describes as disorder and overcrowding at the home.
She adds that communication with the occupants has broken down completely. According to her, her calls have gone unanswered and she has since been blocked, making it difficult for her to resolve the matter directly.
She also says she has sought help from local authorities, including the area chief, but claims that no effective assistance has been provided so far. This, she says, has left her feeling frustrated and without clear options for resolving the situation from abroad.
The nurse further expresses emotional strain over the situation, questioning whether she should travel back to her home country at her own expense in order to physically intervene and remove the occupants from the property. She, however, does not indicate any formal legal steps taken at this stage.
The situation remains unresolved, with the property owner calling for clarity and resolution as the dispute continues to unfold.
